EXPERIENCE AND METHODS:
Dean M. Lierle earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington in 2001 with a specialty in Administration and a Certificate in Child & Adolescent Mental Health. He performed volunteer and internship work with the Crisis Clinic suicide hotline of King County; the YWCA and Healthcare for the Homeless working with a severe and chronically mentally ill homeless population.
In 2004 after working for two years as the capital campaign manager for the Compass Center homeless shelter in Seattle, he began work as a clinical social worker / counselor at Helpline House on Bainbridge Island for 8 years. In 2008, while working at Helpline House he obtained his Licensed Clinical Social Work (LICSW) credential . In 2012, Dean moved to a full-time private practice with Peninsula Psychological Center and continues to see clients through PPC in Poulsbo and Silverdale.
Dean opened an office independently in Seattle in 2016 and currently provides psychotherapy to individual patients at this location in Pioneer Square.Dean provides psychotherapeutic counseling primarily for individuals in an office setting. Dean uses a client-centered, strengths-based model of assessment and treatment. Dean’s specialized education and experience are in the areas of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and crisis counseling. His professional background includes 12 years in human resources management during which time he held a PHR from SHRM.
